Tom I have just learned of Evy's passing. Our Mothers shared life together and where great friends. It is comforting to know they are with our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace to you and family.

Mom and I visited with Evey just before Memorial Day. She and Mom both lived in Burt Village for several years. What a special lady she was, it was a blessing to get to know her and I know my Mom valued her friendship a great deal. She always spoke of Tom's visits, I know they meant so much to her. Our last visit, she mentioned how he came and spent the day with her on Mother's Day and how much she loved that.

Tommy, so sorry for you loss. I attended Chenoa schools for 11 years and was a classmate of your brother Jerry. She was sec. in the high school when I attended and remember her as having a smile for everyone and always made you feel important.

Evy was an inspiration on many levels to me. I'm glad I knew her when I went to school with her son Jerry, and I'm glad we became friends as adults with our kindred interest in history and making sure stories are told for others to read. The things she wrote remain so others will benefit now and in the future.

Sad to hear of the passing of Evy. She was a great lady. Many nice memories of her in our Chenoa days and when she came to Florida we would visit too. She did much for the community of Chenoa and will be missed.

Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Evie. She was my mom, Ruth Shifflet's, good friend for many years. My dad and Hugo played football together in Chenoa. Now the foursome is together again.
